Giving every unique mind the space to grow
Amy Anderson
The decision to move beyond the classroom walls came from a place of deep reflection. Following the birth of my own child in January 2025, my perspective on the balance between work and family life shifted. I knew I needed to create a path that allowed me to prioritise my family while continuing to do what I love most, so I created Anderson Tutoring. By stepping away from the traditional school day, I’ve found the freedom to support the children who need it most, giving them more direct attention and bespoke guidance that isn’t always possible in a busy classroom. This journey isn't just a new chapter for me; it’s a commitment to providing your child with the dedicated, heart-led support they deserve.
I am a fully qualified primary school teacher, with over 13 years of experience across the primary age range, including 8 years as a class based assistant headteacher. I have seen firsthand that no two paths to learning are the same. During my time in the classroom, I have worked with a range of pupils with varying needs. My focus and commitment has always been to support the individual learner, meeting them where they are, rather than where they are expected to be.
During my teaching journey, I have also spent seven years in a trauma-informed school, so I understand that true learning can only happen when a child feels safe, seen, and understood. My teaching is built on a foundation of empathy and patience, ensuring that every session is more than just an academic exercise—it’s a place where confidence is restored and curiosity is celebrated. Whether your child needs a gentle boost or a new way to look at a challenge, I am here to provide the dedicated space they need to flourish in their own unique way.
